In 2015/16 (September-August) Russia exported 4568 KMT of corn, which was 46% more than in 2014/15 – 3123 KMT.
Key export market for Russian corn in 2015/16 was EU, same as for Ukrainian corn. Turkey was at the second place among the key importers, decreasing purchases to 28%. Also Russian corn shipments decreased to Iran and Azerbaijan. In contrast, Korea imported 44% more corn in the reporting season. Among the growing export markets are Lebanon, Syria, Libya, and Georgia.
In 2016/17 UkrAgroConsult expects that Russia will retain the export pace it managed to increase in 2015/16 at the background of stable growth in corn production.
