Is the new EU’s Common Agricultural Policy Greener?
In October 2011, under the leadership of the EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dacian Ciolos, the European Commission proposed four legislative texts to reform the instruments regulating the European agricultural markets, the payments farmers are entitled to receive, the measures promoting rural development and the new principles (e.g. transparency) which should be driving this public policy.
