In 2015/16 (September-August) Russia exported 4568 KMT of corn, which was 46% more than in 2014/15 – 3123 KMT.
Copa and Cogeca sent a letter to the EU Commission this week calling for support measures for EU fruit and vegetable growers to be extended to offset the impact of the Russian ban on EU exports, after President Putin confirmed that the ban will continue until 2016.
On August 22 Serbia made it clear that it will abide by the the EU recommendation not to introduce special measures to boost the export of its food products to the Russian market, but that it will not obstruct it either.
The harvest is nearly complete and the country will have enough wheat for its needs and export, even though the average yield is somewhat lower than last year.
